Student Options if Found Responsible

If a student has been found responsible for violating University policy and has received an Outcome Letter, the student has three (3) options:

  1. A student can resolve the case by signing the agreement.
  2. A student may ask CSA to consider an alternative to the proposed sanctions. To do this, the student must submit a counterproposal (template here) for CSA to consider. While CSA always carefully reviews a student’s counterproposal, it often decides to keep the original sanctioning recommendation. If a student’s counterproposal is not accepted, the student can either sign the original agreement or request a hearing.
  3. A student may choose to have a disciplinary hearing. To learn more about this option please refer to Section II. F. of the Charter of the University of Pennsylvania's Student Disciplinary System.
