Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Community Standards and Accountability Center (CSA) is to promote accountability, integrity, healing, and community building within the Penn community. CSA works to resolve violations of the Code of Academic Integrity and the Code of Student Conduct, as well as to coordinate university response to address incidents of bias and harm within our community. Partnering with students, staff, and faculty, CSA seeks to proactively support community standards, prevent harm, improve communication, and interrupt escalatory conflict across the university. Utilizing multiple pathways for resolving incidents, including the disciplinary process outlined in the Charter of the University of Pennsylvania Student Disciplinary System and Restorative Practices, CSA aims to uphold Benjamin Franklin’s commitment to “education of citizenship,” by focusing our processes and outcomes on fostering responsible, global citizenship both on campus and beyond. Through both policies and practices CSA seeks to partner across disciplines to support and challenge our students as we work to support the university’s educational mission and uphold the community standards of accountability, integrity and justice.
